Konami deems Jap Xbox insubstantial

Convincing Konami to release Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance on the Xbox alongside its more traditional PS2 and PC outlets was a major coup for Microsoft, but apparently it couldn’t sway the Japanese giant all the way. According to the Japanese developer/publisher, it will not be releasing the Xbox version of the game in its home territory due to an insufficient installed base of Xbox units in the region. Until Xbox sales improve in Japan, MGS2: Substance will be targeted squarely at the US and Europe.

This is in spite of a strong showing at the recent Tokyo Game Show, and increased Xbox sales on the back of Capcom’s Tekki (Steel Battalion) release with its forty-button controller.

Thats a true shame that the xbox is not really doing all that well in japan, honestly its a great system, and should be enjoyed by everyone, the fact that the system is american built should not stop other countrys from enjoying the darned thing.

the way i see it is
xbox = good
ps2 = good
xbox did start out with not many good titles besides halo but the fact of the matter is that cannot be used agains xbox anymore for there are lots of great ones and great ones to come
ps2 does have alot of good games and the selection is awsome but lets face it they burn out and are repetative FF is good but how many can u possibly make

problem = the same as with the honda civic, people become infactuated with it, the honda civic is a good car but people buy it to be "racers" sorry not gonna happen...
ps2 = so many people infactuated with playstation that they cant even think of owning another console
playstation is good just people should give things another chance
just because its not the precious playstation doesnt mean that it isnt good
i own a playstation and love it problem is honestly i like the games on xbox better but guess thats not a problem
only reason i keep ps2 is for tenchu 3 and some others
