Patching Games
with DVD2XBOX
by losturmarbles What is Dvd2Xbox?
Dvd2xbox
is a DVD/CD to HDD copy program for the xbox which supports the formats UDF/ISO9660/CDDA
(Audio 2 Ogg ripping with freecddb naming, DVD ripping with libdvdread). It
provides a simple all at once copy mode and a win commander style disc
browser. Why use Dvd2Xbox?
Dvd2Xbox
is the easiest way to patch your xbox game backups to be played from the
HDD. Dvd2Xbox uses ACL (Action Control
List) files to patch the necessary files from the game. The default.acl contains all known generic
patches like media patch v1 and v2 and the fatx detection. Some games will require an individual ACL
file in the form [gameID].acl. If
there is no individual ACL file for the game you are backing up, then the
default.acl is used. Getting Started
There
should be an “acl” folder that came with Dvd2Xbox. This folder contains the ACL patches for
your games. Example
ACL files: all.acl default.acl 434D0011.acl - Pro Race Driver 2 / V8 Supercars 2 (NTSC/PAL) 5451000F.acl - Alter Echo 48450001.acl - Rugby League (AU) to run from HDD and
play on NTSC machines 45410042.acl - 007 Everything or Nothing (BTW-there
are 2 versions of the 007 patch: pal_45410042 & ntsc_45410042. You must delete the ntsc_/pal_ prefix
before using it.) More
ACL files can be created/released when needed. How to use ACL files 1) FTP Dvd2Xbox files to your
xbox. (Example: F:\Apps\dvd2xbox\) 2)
Launch Dvd2xbox. 3) Go to “settings” (white
button). 4) Ensure the option
"Enable ACL Processing" is set to yes. 5)
Press the white button to exit. 6)
Insert your game disc and press A to copy to HDD. Steps to patch a game you've
already backed up on the HDD 7)
Use the HDD browser (B button). 8) Press the R trigger and
select the drive that you copied the game to. 9)

select "Process ACL". For more info on ACL files click below |
