Network LED Tutorial (Quick and Easy)
Want to know when there's network activity or just want to add
more LED's to your Xbox? Here's how!
WARNING! I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR XBOX,
YOURSELF, OR ANYTHING ELSE.
(On that note, let me point out that this is one of the easiest
mods to do. If you know how to solder, chances are, you won't have any troubles
at all.)
Time required, 5-10 min.
Tools required:
1-LED of your choice
1-100 ohm resistor
Wire-Enough to place
where wanted
Soldering Iron, solder,
etc.
And now, how to do it!
1: Solder the resistor
to the positive leg of the LED.
2: Solder wire to the
resistor. This wire will then be soldered any RED wire inside. A common one is
the wire going to the HDD.
3: Now, solder a wire
to the ground of the LED; this will go to the ground of the network activity
LED on the network jack.
*Note: Make sure
you use shrink-tube or tape to secure your connections

4: Locate the network
plug. Now, if you see the bare leads going to the amber-yellowish LED, solder
directly to the lead farthest towards
the left. If not, you must solder to the pin connected to the motherboard,
looking directly under the plug you’ll see this. Solder to the pin circled in
red.

5: Place the LED wherever you wish. Usually, someone drills a hole,
fills it with hot glue, and places the LED behind it
Tada! You're done!

Note: Your LED may glow dimly when there's no activity, this
is normal.
